9 days...YIKES

Being the procrastinator that I am I just realized Christmas is like 9 days away and my project list to complete this week (but hopefully today) is huge!

~Embroider Grammas Stockings(this must be done today!)...
~Sew My Loves blankets...
~Crochet Wes's hat...
~Make Z a few more NICU friendly shirts...
~Photoshop pictures for the In-laws...
~My parents gift(top secret in case they are reading)...
~My oldest Love won a contest where his drawing is the Christmas card cover for my MIL's work so I am going to use a Little Birdie's idea and embroider my Sister in law a picture of his artwork...
~Finish nursing covers for my sisters (not really gifts but I need to complete before they are done nursing)...

All of this is somehow going to be completed while I elevate my GIANT pregnant feet so they dont explode:)

its gotta be better than a frog vest...

The newest Love Of My Life(nephew) Z has spent the first two weeks of his life in the NICU...so has his mama. Right now he is progressing wonderfully...but I just know hes missin me. Since I have a little cold I have been banned from seeing him for 8 days now:( So in order to keep my title as favorite aunt (that's the favorite of 7 aunts so you can see how awesome I am...joke) I have to send him little gifts that I have made.

He currently has a PIC line on his right arm that prevents him from wearing most clothes(although apparently he has a frog vest I havent seen yet) so I modified this baby T shirt by adding snaps to the arm (well actually Uncle Rob added the snaps cause there was a hammer involved and anything that involves tools he makes his job) and I appliqued a little fish...my first attempt at applique-ing so its definitely not perfect. Then a Little Birdie showed me how to make this adorable hat that I just had to try! I used the same fish fabric on the ears so it matches...

I'm just hoping the hat fits!

That same Little Birdie also had a cover for changing little boy diapers...Ive actually never got sprayed but I did make one of my Loves spray himself (I think hes finally forgiven me). It looked super easy and since I have TONS of flannel laying around from my rag quilts I thought Id give it a try...

...SUCCESS!!! I looked online and the "name brand" ones are like $10 for 5...HOLY MOLY! Several of these will for sure be added to the two newest Love's Christmas baskets.

I always knew I was a Princess:)

So we all know times are tough and just when I think Im at my breaking point I hear something like this that reminds me to just put it all in God's hands. As a member of the Royal Family of God we just need to remember that He is in control of His kingdom and soon things are going to improve!
TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria
Receiving the Overflow

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"…we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance"(Psalm 66:12, NIV)
Friend, no matter what your circumstances may look like today, God's plan is to bring you through to a place of abundance. He wants you to have an abundance of peace, an abundance of joy, an abundance of resources—He wants you to overflow with His blessings so that you can be a blessing to the people around you.
One thing I've learned is that if you want to live in the overflow of God's blessings, you have to have an attitude to receive the overflow. Remember, as a believer in Jesus, you are a child of the Most High God. Royal blood is flowing through your veins. You were not created to be average. You were not created to barely get by and drag through life. You have seeds of greatness on the inside. You are well able to do whatever God has called you to do!
Today, I encourage you to put your shoulders back, hold your head up high and start thinking like a victor. And when you're a victor, you know that any adversity in your life is not permanent, it's temporary. Have the attitude to receive the overflow of God's abundance. Keep believing and keep expecting because it's just a matter of time until He turns things around in your favor!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Heavenly Father, today I open my mind and heart to You. I choose to believe that You have a good plan for me. By faith today, I receive the blessings You have for me so that I can be a blessing to others. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Im a sewing "machine"...

So since I didnt get a work call yesterday I decided to sew (all day)..well actually that was after I watched a video on how to crochet a flower and found a pattern to make a reversible fleece beanie (both which turned out super cute) and discovered my blogging idol...Little Birdie Secrets.

Completed so far ...(pardon the pictures I've misplaced my camera)

1. Revesible fleece beanie

2. Ash's Softees (Jenn should be getting those to you in about 2 weeks)

3. Swaddle-able receiving blankets...The two new loves of my life are 3 months and 2 weeks and love to be swaddled and with 1.25 yards of snuggle flannel(which is on sale at Joanns right now) I can make one for like $3.Since I knew I couldn't wait for Christmas to give them their blankets I bought fabric so I could make one for now and one for Christmas.

4. From my list #3 Sew these hooded towels my sister asked me to make her 2 years ago. (This is a 10 min project that just never got done)

All of these projects actually only took me 30 minutes or less for each one...

Crochet'd Coasters

This is the journey of a procrastinator...one who loves to do crafts and projects but never completes them. Crocheting, sewing, embroidering, painting, jewelry making, cooking, decorating, cleaning, playing my guitar...these are just a few of the things I can think of that I have tried.

The Story of crocheted coasters...

On a family vacation to Oregon my Great Gramma introduced me to crocheting....this is it I thought! Immediately I became addicted as Im sure most crocheters are. I bought some yarn and books and started my crocheting journey...unfortunately all I ever completed was A LOT of crocheted coasters. Then I thought I'll make a hat which coincidently started the way my coasters did! Well those ended up being crocheted coasters too. Oddly I dont even make people use coasters at my house.

For my college graduation my sister bought me a sewing machine...this is it I thought! Immediately I became addicted as Im sure most sewers are. I bought some fabric and a pattern and started my sewing journey...to sew my dog a T-shirt (yes Im one of them). This started my project baskets. Baskets that have projects with fabric cut, patterns pinned...all I need to do is assemble everything.

One day I was at HobbyLobby and wandered down the hand embroidery aisle...this is it I thought! Immediately I became addicted as Im sure most embroiderers are. I bought some tea towels, books, patterns, needles and thread and started my embroidery journey...you can probably guess that I have a basket full of half embroidered tea towels.

Inspiration

I guess you could say I have a short attention span? At Joanns the other day I had a basket full of fabric to sew my nephews blankets then I went to get fleece to sew some hats then I decided to crochet some dish scrubbies then..."Why dont you finish one thing before you start another" That was Jenn. GENUIS I thought!! Why did this genuis idea never cross my mind? I could actually finish something BEFORE I start something else!

So my journey begins Im going to finish all of these projects. I thought maybe I could document my journey in order to hold myself accountable. Ultimately I would love to have a home business where I can sell my crafts (which are pretty great when I finish them) and stay home with my baby(she's coming soon). Unfortunately no one is interested in buying anything half finished or I would have already made it big:)

Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me

The Plan...

Finish these projects (these are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Im sure the list will grow)

1. Crochet a hat. (One that gets past the "coaster" stage)

2. Sew my curtains (My ma got me a interior decorator for my 23rd bithday and I thought WOW I could sew my own curtains...Im now 25 with unfinished curtains)

3. Sew these hooded towels my sister asked me to make her 2 years ago. (This is a 10 min project that just never got done)

4. Doggy shirt

5. L's Dress (it was supposed to be her 1st bday present...she just turned 2)

6. Gramma's Tea Towels

7. Ma's Tea Towels (these tea towels were Mother's day presents)

8. Baby slings (all cut and ready to be assembled)

9. Put pictures in my frames ( I just counted 32 picture frames in my house that have pictures of people I dont know)

10. Decorate my Christmas Tree (it has ribbon and candy canes and 4 ornaments)

11. Organize my sewing room
